Ive used this same program on the PC for a number of years now, and it is superb! I found it for the IPad and it just as great. Download, and you wont be disappointed.

One of the best apps available for anyone who works with words. I especially appreciate the way the program permits you to tap on any part of a definition and go more extensively into the meaning of a word. For the money, it rivals a newspaper and a stamp in the "best bang for the buck!"

This dictionary with huge audio pronunciation really costs the price.

UNBELIEVABLE tool! It does what I bought a $200 device does for print disabled students! Explore it all, the wild cards for spelling help, being able to get adverbs and adjectives for writing, oh and being able to pronounce a word for a student who would have been to proud to ask before. It even keeps a history so USE it for vocab development. I cant say enough great things about this. Its the one app I have on all 400 of our iPods for all levels of students. Requires no wireless which is another bonus! All teachers and students with print disabilities needs this app!!!!!!!

This dictionary makes better use of the ipad/iPhone capabilities than any other dictionary I have used (note that there are several other dictionaries that use this same engine with different content). This is the only one that passes the sole/soul test - it really does have a sounds like fuzzy search. It also lets you use wild cards in the search and you can limit the search to just nouns for example. It has good cross references to other similar or opposite words. It works well on the iphone and the iPad. It has useful options in the settings menu. It has cross references to external sites. The dictionary engine is the best but the content is not as good as many of the established major publishers of paper dictionaries. It doesnt have word origins or usage notes.

I really like this app. Words are easy to find. Whats missing is thesaurus by the same company and not by someone else. Chambers is recommend but I would prefer this same brand. I believe they could make a better one. Please consider this.

Ive been looking for an easy to use dictionary with spoken pronunciation. This is it. In the first 15 minutes of use I found out Ive been mispronouncing "apologia", not that it comes up a lot. Sorry.

I got this app for my husband, who is learning English. The audio is the best I have heard, very clear and understandable. I will be using this app too, because it offers such great features: pattern search (for Words with ex-friends) and showing sound-alikes.

It is an amazing dictionary I have been searched and sought for dictionary pronounce and say the word sound in different tenses present/ past/ present perfect and this is the only dictionary that I have seen give you the utterance And the sound of word in deferent tenses. It is really recommended .

I have tried many dictionary apps and this is by far, without a doubt the best. It will find words and spell check words that leave the others in the dust. I spent more money avoiding spending $3.99. Spend the $3.99 and get the best. Dont do what I did. You wont be disappointed.

I just purchased this application and the audio does not work. However, the ref section is asking to download Chamber dictionary. I do not understand the reason for purchasing this application if it is only for audio. I am not sure what else to say than only fix those issues and I will give you the proper rating. Sound does not work on the IPad 2

The whole point I bought this for is the audio and it wont even make a sound. If I have to pay for chambers dictionary then Im gonna looking for a refund

Ive have this app for awhile along with the New Oxford American app (which belonged to WorldWeb before and it was only $4.99, Now its not in the AppStore anymore but the app is still working very well.) there are cross-references on both of them, I can do link search back and forth which Im been enjoying them. The app has all of features: phonetic & audio pronunciation, font adjustment ( up to 20PT), clear definitions with synonyms&antonyms , example sentences and much more than I need . Fast and fun search. I hope the WordWeb will have Medical Dictionary app in the future.
